Push notifications for your mobile phone

Turn on push notifications for your phone to receive shift updates

You may receive pop-ups on your mobile phone alerting you to shifts your manager has assigned to you. These messages, known as push notifications, are designed to alert you to new or changed shifts, even when your foundU Employee app is closed.

In foundU, push notifications will be sent for:

  • New shifts - New shifts that have been assigned to you
  • Shift updates - Changes to your existing shifts
  • Shift offers - Shifts for you to accept or decline
  • Shift cancellations - Shifts or shift offers that your business has cancelled

Benefits of push notifications

These notifications are easy to view and help you plan your day, manage personal commitments, and optimise your work-life balance.

If your business has decided to use push notifications, you must enable permissions on your mobile device to receive them. The great news is that receiving push notifications on your phone is free!

Note: Your business may not use this feature yet, so if you are unsure, ask your manager if push notifications are used in your business.

  • Stay Informed on Opportunities - Notifications can alert you to additional shifts or offers you might otherwise miss, helping you maximise your earning potential.
  • Reduced Stress - Feel more in control of your roster and commitments. Know that any shift changes will be sent to you instantly, alleviating the stress and anxiety of uncertainty.

When you receive a push notification about the above, select the link in the notification to be taken directly to the details of that shift or offer.

Note: You cannot reply to a push notification because they are designed only to provide alerts and updates, not to facilitate direct communication. If you need to contact your manager about a shift, please do so directly.

 

Enable push notifications on your phone

If you know your business is using push notifications, you'll need to ensure that you have enabled the notifications for the foundU employee app to receive them. These instructions are pretty similar for iOS and Android devices.

Similarly, if you have previously disabled them, please use the instructions below to enable them.
 

To allow shift notifications on your phone:

  1. On your phone, go to the Settings.
  2. Locate the relevant area for Notifications > App notifications.
  3. Locate the foundU employee app and Allow notifications.

Once allowed, if your business has enabled push notifications, you'll start receiving them for your shifts. This will ensure you are always aware of your shifts and keep you updated.

Note:  If your business uses push notifications for shifts, you may still receive email notifications for a while. These messages are the same, but your employer will likely stop sending shift emails after transitioning to push notifications.
