Checking your next and future shifts
You can easily check your upcoming rostered shifts at any time by accessing the Employee App on your mobile device or the browser-based employee portal on your computer. This will allow you to check shift details, such as when and where you will be working, and, optionally, see the coworkers you will be working with for those shifts.
Two areas on your Home screen are particularly helpful for viewing shifts. These are:
- Shift card - This shows your current or next rostered shift.
- Upcoming rosters - This will show your shifts as far in advance as your manager has completed the roster.
New rostered shifts or shift offers from your employer will be live in your Employee App each time you log in. This ensures you are always aware of your shifts and can plan accordingly.
Viewing your next shift
You can see your upcoming shift on the shift card in your Employee App dashboard or through the Employee Portal on your web browser, ensuring you stay informed about your schedule anytime and anywhere.
To view your next shift:
- From your homepage, find the green shift card that displays all the details of your upcoming shift. Details include:
- The shift date, start and end times
- Your Roster or the roster address
- Any paid and unpaid break times
- Shift notes from your manager can be viewed by selecting the speech bubble icon.
- If your business uses phone clocking (rather than iPad clocking), you can use the Start shift button to begin the Next shift.
Viewing your upcoming roster
Using the Upcoming Roster section is the main way to stay informed about all shifts that you are working throughout the week.
This is particularly beneficial if you have multiple shifts (split shifts) on the same day, so checking all shifts from the Upcoming Roster section is best to ensure you are prepared for all your work hours.
To view all shifts in a week:
- Select the week. Shifts in the Upcoming Roster section will default to your current week. Use the forward and back arrows on the date selector to view upcoming/ past shifts.
-
Select any shift to view specific shift details, including notes/messages from your manager. This includes:
- The shift date, start and end times
- Your position
- Your Roster, including the address
- Any paid and unpaid break times
- Shift notes - You can see them by selecting the shift to review the details. The speech bubble icon at the top right of the shift displays any notes on your shift.
- The coworkers you have overlapping shifts with. This is an optional feature; read more below.
Viewing your coworkers
One optional feature your employer might use is letting you see which coworkers are rostered at the same time as you. This makes it easy to see who you'll be working with during your shift, and can help with planning or filling shifts when needed.
When enabled, you can view:
- Which employees are working during your shift if their shift overlaps with your shift.
- Coworkers working on your roster, or all employees working during your shift.
- You'll always see your coworkers' names. You may also see their shift times, depending on what your employer has chosen to show.
To view your coworkers:
- Select either the green shift card or a shift from the upcoming roster.
- This will open a drawer to display the shift's details. At the bottom, you’ll see the icons for any coworkers working during your shift.
- Select the icons to see a full list of your coworkers and their shift times (optional).
Shift types in the upcoming roster
You'll notice various types of shifts as you review your weekly shifts. These include:
- Green shifts (black text) - These represent shifts you have today or that are in the future.
- Green shifts (grey text) - These are past shifts. You can also access your Shift History to see a record of shifts worked.
- Paid day off shifts (pink) - These refer to shifts specific to public holidays for permanent employees, where you will receive payment but are not required to attend work.
- Requested shifts (amber) - These are shifts that your manager has offered to you to register your interest in them. Your manager will notify you of the outcome of these shifts. You can read more about accepting, declining, or requesting interest in an offer here.
Viewing shifts and the upcoming roster on a desktop
If you mainly work in an office or on a computer, you can easily check your shifts through the Employee Portal. Just to make sure you remember, foundU works best with Google Chrome.
To view your shifts and roster on a computer:
- Log in to your employee portal. You'll use the same login details as you use for your Employee App.
- Once logged in, your screen will display:
- Your next shift in the Shift Card.
- All future rostered shifts in the Upcoming Roster section.
