Accept or decline job or bulk shift offers on your Employee App
Job offers give you the opportunity to pick up shifts your manager makes available, instead of being automatically assigned to your roster. This lets you plan around your other commitments and choose shifts that fit best with your schedule.
These types of offers are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want one, jump on it. Once you accept, it’s added straight to your roster. Keeping an eye on job offers shows you’re keen, reliable, and open to more hours.
This guide will discuss how to manage shifts from the Job Offers call-to-action card. For information on Shift Offers, please see our guide here.
What are job offers?
Job offers are shifts your employer sends you to review, rather than adding them straight to your roster. This gives you the chance to check the details and decide if the shift works for you.
You’ll receive these through your employer’s preferred method (email, SMS, or push notifications), and they’ll also show up in your app as a call-to-action card.
When you're in the app, you might notice there are 2 different types of offer cards:
-
Job offers - These can include:
- Shifts linked to timesheets (if your company uses this feature)
- Recurring shifts sent out in bulk, like the same shift across multiple days (e.g. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm every Thursday for the next few weeks)
Shift offers - These are usually a bit more varied, with different times or roster details. You can review them and request to work on the ones that suit you.
Best practice is to review all job and shift offers sent to you and respond promptly. Additionally, if you want to learn more about shift offers, check out our guide.
Accept or decline job offers
When you receive a job offer, you can choose to accept the shifts that fit your schedule or decline the ones that don't. These offers work on a first-come, first-served basis, so the first person to accept a shift will have it added to their roster.
Once you've accepted a job offer, it will be added to your roster like any other. If you can no longer do it, you'll need to either cancel it (if your employer uses this feature) or contact your manager and follow your company's process.
To accept or decline job offers:
-
From your home page, select the Job Offers call-to-action card. This will open the Job Offers window.
- On the main page, you'll see a list of shift groupings. Each grouping may contain multiple shifts that are for the same roster, role, and shift time, but on different days. Take a moment to review the details carefully.
- Respond to each grouping, you can either:
- Decline - Let your manager know you cannot work any of the shifts in the group. Once declined, this cannot be changed.
-
View Shifts - Select this to review the individual shifts within the grouping before responding.
- Next, review the shift details and choose the shifts you want to accept by selecting the corresponding checkboxes. Any boxes unselected will be declined.
-
Select Accept Shifts for shifts you can work. This will automatically roster yourself for the shift if you're the first to respond.
- You will then see the selected accepted shifts removed from your offered list. You can view them in your upcoming roster on the home page screen.
Note: Don't miss out on job offers, they can become unavailable when:
- Another employee accepts the shift before you
- The offer has expired
- The shift has already started or is in the past
If this happens, you'll get a follow-up message letting you know the shift is no longer available. It's a good idea to action your offers as soon as possible so you don't miss out.
