Answering your questions about starting and leaving your employment
When applying for a role with an employer who uses foundU, or leaving your current job, you might have a few questions about managing this in your Employee App.
Read below for some of the most common questions about using foundU when applying to a new employer or departing your current one. This includes:
- Onboarding from your app
- Checking your employment details
- Leaving your employment
- Accessing your profile after you've been terminated
Getting started with your employer
How can I check the status of my job application?
When you are registered in foundU, you'll go through a simple 5-step onboarding process. Simply complete each step, and once you're done, you'll see a screen saying a representative will be in touch shortly.
Your prospective employer might want to review some of your details midway through the application process. If this happens, you may see the landing screen after completing only a few of the five steps.
From here, you will then receive an email informing you of one of the following outcomes:
- Your application wasn't successful
- You're moving forward and need to finish the remaining steps
- Your application was successful
How can I check my employment start date?
Documents such as contracts, offer letters, and pay raises can be sent by your employer for you to review and sign right in the app. These documents will include details like your pay rate, start date, or other contractual obligations.
You can access these documents at any time from the main menu > View Profile > Documents > My Documents.
However, this is an optional feature for your employer to use. If they don't use this feature, please reach out to your manager.
For more details on how to review and sign these, check out our guide here.
How do I know when my first shift with my employer will be?
Once you've finished onboarding, your manager can begin rostering you at any time. After the roster is published, you can view your shifts for the current or upcoming weeks directly from the home page.
Additionally, you'll also receive either an email, SMS, or push notification each time you have upcoming shifts or if any of your shifts are changed or cancelled.
For further reading about receiving shift updates by push notifications, refer to your guide here.
I am applying for a job with a previous employer. Do I need to create a new profile?
Once you register with foundU, you’ll create a personalised profile. Trying to set up a second profile on the same platform might give you an error because details like your TFN can only be linked to one profile. This helps keep all your work history, documents, and information in one place.
If you want to be rehired by an old employer who uses foundU, there are 2 options:
- Ask your former employer to reactivate your profile.
- Reactivate your own profile - This is an optional feature that your former employer may use.
After your profile is reactivated, you may be required to go through the 5-step onboarding process to review and update your details to ensure everything’s up to date.
You can learn more about this here.
Leaving your employer
Can I resign from my role directly from the foundU Employee App?
If you're planning to resign from your job, make sure to follow your company's resignation process.
You can't notify your employer about your resignation directly from your profile.
Can I still view my payslips after I have been terminated?
Yes! Once your profile has been archived, you still have limited access to your profile. This is so you can view and download any key documents, such as:
- Payslips
- Employment Termination Payments
- Signed Documents (e.g contracts, letters of offer, etc.)
Can I delete my account from foundU?
Unfortunately, once you've set up a profile on a platform, it can't be deleted. If you've left a previous employer, you can simply delete the app from your phone, but your profile will still be there in case you need access to any documents later on.
If you're applying for a job at a different company that uses foundU, there's no need to delete your current profile — You can simply create a new one for the new employer.
My former employer no longer uses foundU, can I still view my payslips?
Once a platform goes offline, you will no longer be able to access your profile.
If you need assistance, please contact the foundU Support team and be prepared to verify your identity.
