Updating financial details
Can I split my pay into multiple bank accounts?
Once you've gone through the 5-step onboarding and entered your main account details, you can add any additional accounts you own.
For each of those, just specify how much you want to split each pay - either a dollar amount or a percentage. When your payslip is processed, your pay will automatically be sent to all the accounts you've set up.
Do my superannuation details update automatically?
Superannuation funds and providers can change from time to time. When that happens, your provider should let you know about any big updates.
Your fund details don’t automatically update on your profile, so if anything changes, you can easily update your details by going to the main menu > View Profile > Financial Details.
I am under 18. Why am I being asked to complete a TFN Declaration?
When filling out your TFN Declaration, if you're under 18, you can choose to declare a TFN exemption. This gives you up to 28 days to obtain a TFN from the ATO.
Once you receive it, you can update your declaration by going to the main menu > View Profile > ATO Documents.
Once your pay exceeds the threshold, you will be taxed. If your TFN is not provided, then you will be taxed at the highest rate according to ATO guidelines.
For more information about TFN documentation, please refer to the ATO website, here.
I can't provide my TFN. Can I complete the declaration?
When filling out a TFN declaration and you're asked to provide your Tax File Number, you might see an error for a few reasons:
- You haven't entered a TFN yet - In this case, you can choose an exemption reason, which will give you 28 days to add your TFN and update the declaration.
- Your TFN has already been used - Each profile on a foundU platform needs a unique TFN. If you've created a second profile on the same platform, you'll get an error because the same TFN is linked to both. If this happens, just contact your manager so they can reactivate your original profile.
Can I sacrifice my salary to superannuation from the Employee App?
If you wish to grow your retirement savings, you can sacrifice part of your pay to contribute additional funds to your superannuation fund.
Managing this sacrifice is optional, and if your employer allows, the amount you sacrifice—whether a dollar amount or a percentage—can be easily handled through your app.
If you would like to salary sacrifice, this can be done from the main menu > View Profile > Financial Details.

I forgot to tick tax-free on my declaration. Where can I update this?
When filling out a TFN declaration, it's important to take your time and double-check all the information. This includes:
- Declaring a HELP Loan
- Declaring a TFN exemption
- Confirming your residency status
- Declaring the tax-free threshold
Employees can update their TFN declaration anytime by going to the main menu > View Profile > ATO Documents. Any changes made will apply to future payslips.

Payslips and pay
How do I know how much HECS/ HELP Loan I am paying back each pay?
When you fill out your TFN declaration and choose to have a student loan like a HELP debt, you'll see the repayments showing up in the Tax section of your payslip once they start.
When your payslips are processed, the information is automatically sent to the ATO, updating your records. To check how much you still owe on your student loan from your myGov account.
I am under 18. Why am I now being paid superannuation?
Employees under 18 will receive superannuation if they work 30 or more hours in a week, regardless of their earnings.
This means that if they work more hours during school holidays, they are likely to receive superannuation payments, even if they wouldn't normally earn them during the school term.
For further information on superannuation payments, please refer to the ATO here.
How can I access my Group Certificate?
A Group Certificate (also known as PAYG Summary or Payment Summary) is no longer required when leaving your employer. They have been replaced by Income Statements, which you can access and view via the MyGov website.
For further reading on group certificates, please read this article from the ATO here.
I am not very tech-savvy. Can my payslips be emailed?
The preferred method for viewing your payslips is using the Employee App, which you can access and download at any time.
Your employer might also decide to email your payslips, but that's entirely up to them. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your manager or payroll officer.
I need to check my pay rate. Where can I see my award level?
Checking your Award Level and base pay rate is a good practice to make sure your pay is correct. You can find your level in certain documents on your profile, such as:
- Any contracts or offer letters sent to you - If your employer provides you with a contract to sign, it may include your Award Level or base pay rate. These documents are available via the main menu > View Profile > Documents > My Documents.
-
Payslips - When you view your payslip, it will show any positions or Award Levels you worked during that pay period underneath your details.
Be advised that your employer isn't required to use these features. If you can't find your Award Level, please reach out to your manager.
You can download the Award's pay guide from Fair Work here.
I am having trouble viewing payslips on my phone. Is there another way to view them?
You can check your payslips through the app or by logging into the employee portal. The portal offers the same features as the app, but you can access it through a web browser (we recommend Chrome).
Just type in the URL for your employer and log in, e.g. https://youremployer.foundu.com.au
Where do I submit my mileage allowance to have it included in my payslip?
If your employer reimburses you or provides you with an allowance for travel or fuel costs, you can let them know using the Submit Shifts feature. This lets you inform your employer and share receipts whenever these expenses come up.
However, using this feature is optional for your employer. If it's not enabled, you should reach out to your manager and follow your company's policies.
